Toshiba Recalls T-Series Notebooks
Companies just hate it when they have to recall certain products for one reason or another and Toshiba finds itself at the firing end of this one. Toshiba’s T-Series Notebooks are under fire, well technically for being a burn hazard.Toshiba has issued a voluntary recall on T-Series models which include the Satellite T135, Satellite T135D and Satellite ProT130 notebook computers.
There are about 41,000 units affected where the units can reportedly overheat at the notebook’s plug-in to the AC adapter and eventually cause some burn injuries to owners.
To date there have already been 129 reports of notebook computers which have overheated and eventually deformed (plastic casing).
Thankfully there were only two minor burn injuries which didn’t require medical attention while two others had some minor property damage.
The Toshiba notebooks were made in China and sold via electronic stores nationwide and online.
Owners affected by this problem should immediately download the latest version of Toshiba’s BIOS computer program to their notebook computer.
This computer program will detect whether the notebook computer is overheating, and if so, disable the notebook computer’s external power and display a message directing the consumer to contact Toshiba for a free repair.
